Design and present-day character
The New Cemetery has a historic southern section and a northern funeral hall. The older chapel, family monuments and the extensive Franck family burial plot reveal its different phases of development.
Read this character description together with the development of Ludwigsburg New Cemetery: it identifies what gives the grounds their present identity without turning the cemetery into a purely historical attraction. A visit can focus on spatial structure and named orientation points while leaving individual graves undisturbed.
